Welcome to the Electromagnetics-Photonics Seminars (EMPS) webpage at the University of Toronto. EMPS is an internal bi-weekly seminar series within the Electromagnetics and the Photonics groups with the goals of fostering collaboration between Professors and students in both groups, as well as providing a platform for open discussions in numerous ongoing cutting edge fields within photonics and electromagnetics. Some of our current interests include microwave/optical metamaterials, photonic crystals, plasmonics, antenna design, nonlinear optics, and quantum optics. The evident overlap in many of these research areas calls for interdisciplinary collaboration; it is our hope that the active interaction fostered by this seminar will prove effective in this regard. Thus we encourage and invite all interested students and professors to proactively participate by presenting their research in EMPS. Please contact one of the organizers to arrange a presentation.
